Based in London, Mark Gregory leads AXIS Insurance’s International Division, which encompasses operations in the UK, Europe, Asia and Latin America. Under his leadership, AXIS Insurance International has established a prominent position in the London specialty insurance market, both through Syndicate 1686 at Lloyd’s and in the company market.
Prior to joining AXIS in 2010, Gregory served as the founding CEO of Bowring Marsh and was also a Board Director of Marsh Limited, and a member of Marsh Limited’s Audit Committee. Previously, over 14 years, he held various senior management roles at Marsh Global Broking, including CEO of Marsh Global Markets.
Gregory started his insurance career in 1980 as a broker with Sedgwick Payne in Treaty Reinsurance. He was responsible for the group’s Latin American treaty business in London and was seconded twice to Latin America as general manager of local broking companies in Chile and Argentina.
Jonathan has held a number of high-profile roles throughout his career in the UK and overseas. These include managing director at Marsh and Guy Carpenter, COO of Willis Global Placement where he led the WillPLACE strategy, Deputy Chief Broking officer for Willis GB, and Group Head of Broking at Ed where he focused on the digitalization of the business, notably the development and launch of TradEd. Ed Broking Group was sold to BGC Partners in January 2019 and Jonathan moved to the parent company BGCP, as a Managing Director tasked with building an electronic broker to mirror BGC’s electronic initiatives in the capital markets. In January 2020 Jonathan became the Chief Digital Officer of Corant Global, the new brand for BGC’s insurance interests.
Sheila Cameron was appointed Chief Executive of the Lloyd’s Market Association in January 2019, where she represents the voice of the Managing Agent community. She has been heavily involved in leading the development and implementation of both the Future at Lloyd’s strategy and the market’s cultural reform agenda.
Before becoming CEO at the LMA, Sheila led various international operational and change functions at Navigators (now The Hartford), Hiscox and Xchanging’s claims business. She began her career at Accenture in Dublin.
Lorenzo joined Insurance Day in August 2017 from S&P Global Market Intelligence, where he led the coverage of European, Middle Eastern and African insurance and reinsurance. Prior to that he held a variety of roles within financial journalism.
