Richard Meade is the Editor of Lloyd’s List. He is an award-winning journalist and has been writing and talking about all aspects of the maritime industry and global trade for the past twenty years.

As Editor he is responsible for navigating The List’s subscribers through the volatile politics, policy, deals and market movements that make up nearly 90% of global trade. He is also the host of the popular Lloyd’s List Shipping Podcast and a regular industry speaker and media commentator on all things shipping. He joined Lloyd’s List in 2006 as News Editor after jumping ship from the weekly maritime magazine Fairplay and prior to that started his career at the Financial Times.

Lorenzo Spoerry joined Insurance Day in August 2017 from S&P Global Market Intelligence, where he led the coverage of European, Middle Eastern and African insurance and reinsurance. Prior to that he held a variety of roles within financial journalism.

Päivi Brunou

In an industry that is going through a digitalisation metamorphosis, Päivi Brunou brings a pragmatic and holistic approach to maritime cyber security at Wärtsilä Voyage. The marine technology company is at the forefront of building a Smart Marine Ecosystem, which demands high levels of digital connectivity and data exchange, and where cybersecurity can no longer be an afterthought. Päivi ensures that, through security and privacy engineering activities, cyber security and resiliency for IT and OT are built into solutions. She helps development teams to reduce risk and leverage opportunities by coaching people, adjusting tools, processes, and methods for context-fit solutions. She works closely with internal and external stakeholders in creating a collective understanding and getting all hands on the deck.

As an avid networker, curious engineer who is determined to learn something new every day, Päivi is contributing to creation of industry standards, studying for Masters in Autonomous Maritime Operations, and enjoys her WISTA network. Päivi is also a member of The Operational Technology Cyber Security Alliance, ENISA Ad Hoc Expert group on Awareness Raising and is serving her second term as a member of Singapore Shipping Association cyber security sub-committee.

Kelly Malynn

Kelly Malynn was appointed Senior Risk Manager responsible for Insurance risk, in January of 2011. This includes oversight of risk within Underwriting, Reserving, Claims, Reinsurance and Exposure Management. In 2014 she took on responsibility for Group Risk and Strategic Risk.

Julian Clark is the Global Senior Partner at Ince, with responsibility for the firm’s practice sectors and client base both in London and internationally. He is himself an internationally recognised leader in shipping and international trade with over 30 years of experience in mediation, arbitration and litigation.

Julian has for over 15 years been ranked in the world’s leading legal reference guides including Chambers & Partners 2020, where he is described as being “recommended in the market for his strong relationship with P&I Clubs”, the Legal 500 where he is ranked as a member of the Hall of Fame, the US publication “Super Lawyers” and Who’s Who Legal who rank him as a “Global Leader”.

He is also internationally recognised as an expert in piracy, e-commerce (including blockchain), cybercrime, security and terrorism issues in the maritime field. He is the Chair of the Maritime London Innovation and Technical Committee and Cyber Risk subcommittee of the CMI.

Simon Meech

Simon Meech is a Chartered Insurance Broker and the Cyber Practice Leader at BMS. Simon’s full career in insurance has all been focussed around cyber risk, with stints in cyber broking, underwriting and claims, predominantly for US domiciled risks. As BMS are leaders in Marine, Energy and Property broking, the BMS cyber team has a close focus on the emerging cyber property damage insurance market.

Bill Egerton

Bill Egerton is a leading cyber security strategist having been active in how technology can improve organisations and the risks involved area since the late 1990’s. Bill started his career working for the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, including time in Moscow, before moving to the private sector. Bill then worked for a number of leading companies involved in the technology / strategy space including PWC, General Dynamics and Defence Strategy & Solutions LLP.

Bill has worked closely with the defence and infrastructure sectors to improve their cyber security capabilities and has continued to advise various parts of the UK government. Bill is a Founder of Astaara.
